Haikus on childhood

sand cars in sand storm, Wales

First poem, at six,
defined the nature of God,
it seemed simpler then.

Birthday party, new dress, new haircut

Seaside holiday,
fairies circling lampposts,
"Mosquitoes" she said.

happy faces at a welsh castle

Sandy, Cornish beach
clotted cream drops from my cone,
my whole world implodes.

Dreams: boobs like Sam Fox!
be careful what you wish for,
no refund/ credit.

In my new cossie,
I will prove King Canute wrong,
Roll back sea! Roll back!

"Daddy has that watch!"
I tell Santa, from his knee,
"Where is my daddy?"

Caroline the enthusiastic runner

Seven, pink birthday dress
stolen from pool changing room,
left in pants and tears.

Seventh birthday party and THAT pink dress sniff
