One bitter mouthful,
And you forget all the sweet.

All the love that was shared,
All the warmth and the heat.

One sour taste
Leaves an ache in your head.

Leaves the pain in your heart,
Leaves the fear and the dread.

If I could change it, I would.
I would take it all back,

But I can’t, and you won’t,
And so it grows worse,

And the darkness envelops those we love most,
And it casts us both down to the Hell
Below.
